The Treehouse Philosophy

The Treehouse’s founder, Kathryn Clout, has a philosophy that all children should be nurtured in a respectful and aesthetically inviting environment. She believes in an ethos of excellence.

An environment that is curated with beauty inside and outside is forefront of the philosophy, with values placed on the unhurried, planned rhythms of the day.  A sense of harmony and peace within the environment and relationships is very important at The Treehouse.  — Kathryn.

The Treehouse makes use of current theoretical underpinnings to provide a learning environment which offers a wide range of opportunities for children to explore, investigate and be creative. The visual arts have a strong influence within the programme. Quality indicators of the Treehouse include the aesthetic environment, with the provision of extravagant and rich resources to support children’s learning and exploration, valuing beauty, calm and unhurried rhythms.

Strong emphasis is placed on setting the stage for play, childhood should be a time of wonderment, where imagination can be fueled through open-ended experiences encouraging investigation, creativity, discovery and exploration.

The Treehouse is a private kindergarten and nursery, licensed for children one years of age and over.
