The Treehouse Philosophy
The Treehouse’s founder, Kathryn Clout, has a philosophy that all children should be nurtured in a respectful and aesthetically inviting environment. She believes in an ethos of excellence which underpins the philosophy.
Achieving aesthetic excellence inside and outside is forefront of the philosophy and practice making it organic and visible throughout the programme, management and relationships. A sense of harmony and peace within the environment and relationships is very important at The Treehouse. — Kathryn.
The Treehouse makes use of current theoretical underpinnings to provide a learning environment which will offer a wide range of opportunities for children to explore, investigate and be creative. The visual arts have a strong influence within the programme. Quality indicators of the Treehouse include the aesthetic environment, including the provision of extravagant and rich resources to support children’s learning and exploration, valuing of diversity, and the learning activities employed.
Strong emphasis is placed on setting the stage for play, childhood should be a time of wonderment, where imagination can be fuelled through open-ended experiences encouraging investigation, creativity, discovery and exploration.
The Treehouse is a private kindergarten, licensed for children two years of age and over.
